ABSTRACT
A hostel reservation system management were design and developed by hypertext Markup language (html). A program (system) was only use in JIGAWA STATE COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, GUMEL for students’ hostel reservation system (HRS). The system is performing function only in (HRS) process not been for other institution activities. Which has been explain under FEATURE OF A NEW SYSTEM.

CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
Hostel provide budget-oriented social accommodation where by guest more especially student of both high level and ‘o level can rent or request from the administration or management for a limit time. Also can be describe that Hostel is an establishment which provide in expensive lodging and sometimes with food together to a specific group of people, such as student, workers or travelers for a limit time.
Hostel are generally cheaper for both operator and occupants; many hostel have long-term residents whom the employ as desk clerk or house kecking staff in exchange for free accommodation.
In some countries such as the UK, Ireland, India the word “hostel” refers to establishment providing longer term accommodation, while in some countries such as Pakistan, south Africa refers it to boarding schools or student dormitories in resident colleges and universities also in some part of the world refers hostel properties offering shared accommodation to travelers backpackers (Mc Grath, 2008).
In short a Hostel is a budget –oriented, shared room (dormitory) accommodation that accept individual travelers or group for a short period of time.
1.1 OVERVIEW OF THE PROJECT
Hostel Reservation system gives on idea about how the students can request hostel and how allocation room are maintained in the particular concern by the administration. The HRS also includes some special features such as the administration has the unique identity for each members as well as accommodation approval. The modules of this project are student request issue, student details, attendance details, and room details.
1.2 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEMS
The use of manual system in hostel reservation and allocation by the student and school is tedious and time consuming, by both administrative staff and students. hence, to the student should be struggle on issue of filling and returning form, and approving waiting. And to school management by the manual method of allocation is prove to errors and missing files, therefore, a computerized method should be adopted in hostel allocation because it involves not much more effort, save time, reliable data and data processed at a very high speed etc.
The clerk at the student’s affairs unit/department keeps record of unoccupied or allocated rooms on a source document so as to know where to allocate a student. Thus the information gathered from the respective students are time consuming. They may in some cases be inaccurate and untimely. therefore to avoid this method a better method can be adopted which involves computerizing the allocation system where each student can through this system request and approve his request by management. because it involves not much more effort, save time, reliable data, and Data processed at the student affairs unit/department keep record of unoccupied or allocation room on a source document so we as to know where allocated a student.
1.3. AIMS AND OBJECTIVE
AIMS of this project is to develop a computerize system for Hostel reservation system (HRS) in Jigawa State College of Education Gumel. The objective of this project is to develop such computerize system that reduce the paper work and saving of time in school management by increasing efficiency and decreasing the work load. It is objectives includes:
_To develop a computerize system for Hostel reservation system.
_To allow the student to view their detail document
_To develop system that secure the data.
_To develop system that maintain student.
1.4. SIGNIFICANT OF THE STUDY
This project servers as vital tools for automated school registration of hostel reservation, it will ease the registration process.
This project is to reduce the technicities with the manual system for conducting school registration (HRS).
1.5 Scope and limitation
The extent to be covered in this project is to design and implement a (HRS)software in Jigawa State College of Education Gumel where students can send or fill their hostel accommodation form, from admin computer to let the information be sent to the school database and the allocation will be done on the click of the mass. The result of allocated student will be either via print out or student can still login again to view the result.
PROJECT MILESTONE: The project management consists of how the project is been carried out (i.e. the major topics of the project corresponded to the expected times.)The project management of this project is shown below:
