ABSTRACT

The major purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of entrepreneurship education to office technology and management graduate in jigawa state polytechnic. The design for the study is survey research. Simple sampling techniques was used. The data collected were analyzed using statistics descriptive and the following were the findings. That the impact of entrepreneurship education in the life of an office technology and management graduate as nearly every course in their programmer exposes them to practical activities that provide the ability for independent especially in this computer age. That they are job management graduate who have acquired entrepreneur education and then government of jigawa state influenced. Office technology and management graduate. Entrepreneur pursuit finally that entrepreneur education reduces employment among office technology and management graduate on the basis of these findings. The research made useful recommendation that since. The entrepreneur is a self-reliant individual government of jigawa state should encourage all graduates and her citizen to go for enter education and get train on business acumen.

INTRODUCTION


1.1 Background of the study

The term entrepreneurship is a concept that attract global interest today as a result of its magnificent to contribution to global economy of development on information communication technology which are the major agent for global economy development.

However, statistic has proven that entrepreneurship is regarded as one among the element of national development and this realized through various form of innovation reduction of unemployment rate through the creation of small and medium scale enterprise. Adoption of technological skills in p of office technology and management graduate in the development of the office and the nation necessitate the proper training and education of office technology and management student. The acquisition or office technology and management student as important as the mastery and development of the professional skills and as the absence of these qualities would under the effective application and utilization of the profession skills.

The quality required of the profession skills or that of an office technology and management student embrace a sound general education, good business knowledge, effective secretarial skills and desirable personal quality, which are a combination of traits. Which lead uniqueness to the character of an office technology and management student.

Entrepreneurship has emerged as a transformative force in the global economy, driving innovation, economic growth, and job creation. 1.2 Statement of the problem

All the nations of the world desire to attain a high level of development and reduce unemployment and under-unemployment and under employment has driven the government and education authority to include entrepreneurship education cannot be overemphasized due to its importance to office technology and management graduates in particular entrepreneurship education skills requires by office technology and management graduates to tackle the problem of unemployment and unskilled man power office technology and management graduates on the other hand, need entrepreneurship skills in order to remain in the business world and reduce the problem of unemployment among graduates. This study seeks to examine the impact of entrepreneurship education to office technology and management graduates.

 

1.3Aims and Objective

The study will enable the researcher achieve the fallowing purpose.

1.      To evaluate the place of entrepreneurship skills in office technology and management.

2.      To examine job prospect of office technology and management graduates.

3.      To identify in the need of entrepreneurship education to office technology and management graduates

4.      To establish how office technology education affect performance of an individual in an organization


      1.4 Significance of the study

    This study will be of great benefit to the government and student those who see self-employment as a way of development and increasing a nation’s standard of living if the finding of this study are implemented government will be able to curb the problem of unemployment among graduates by formulating policies which will create enable environment for those who want to invest our educational institution will experience higher enrolment rate to student toward participation in entrepreneurship education programmed who after graduation will be self-employed. Finally, it will provide comprehensive information on the impact of entrepreneurship to all office technology and management student this will be achieved by equipping them with various modern techniques and skills which enable them in the pursuit and achievement of self-employment.

      1.6 Scope &Limitation of the study

    This study was limited jigawa state polytechnic, dutse. And concentrated on the impact of entrepreneurship education to office technology and management graduates.The study found that exposure to entrepreneurship education influences. Agency [SMEDAN] National office for technology acquisition and promotion reducing unemployment among fresh graduate [Aja okorie and adali 2013] is also show that entrepreneurial education should be taught with field 17 limitation of the study error the effect of increased poverty lack of employment. Poor education system it is general international labor office.


      1.7 Historical Background of the Study

     Following the creation of Jigawa State on the 27 August, 1991 from old Ka State, the Jigawa State Polytechnic was established in December, 1992 w central administration at Kazaure. The Polytechnic consisted of four college namely: College of Business and Management Studies, Dutse, College, Engineering and Technology, Kazaure, College of Agriculture, Hadejia and College of Legal and Islamic Studies, Ringim,

Later, the state government renamed the Polytechnic after the late Emir of Kazaure, Alhaji HusainiAdamu. In 2005, College of Legal and Islamic Studies Ringim gained autonomy. Sequel to this development, the Polytechnic was left with three Colleges; College of Business and Management Studies, Dutse, College of Engineering and Technology, Kazaure and College of Agriculture, Hadejia.

In the year 2007, the Federal Government took over the then College of Engineering and Technology and the Central Administration at Kazaure as HusainiAdamu Federal Polytechnic.

 

Consequent upon this development, the College of Agriculture, Hadejia was granted autonomy as a monotechnic institution by the state government, as such the state was left with only the College of Business and Management Studies, Dutse. A situation which fell short of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) requirements of science-art ratio of (70:30) for the establishment of a full-fledged Polytechnic.

In view of the above, therefore, the Jigawa State Government enacted a law for the establishment of the present Polytechnic with three colleges namely; College of Business and Management Studies (CBMS), College of Engineering and Environmental Studies (CEES) and College of Science and Technology (CST) with the Central Administration at Dutse. The

Polytechnic has grown from strength to strength and by the year 2021, the council expanded the colleges by four additional new colleges namely; College of Engineering Technology (CET); College of Health Sciences (CHS); College of Social and General Studies (CSGS); College of Technical and Vocational Education (CTVE). The Institution has graduated students over the years that excelled in various fields of human endeavor.
