ABSTRACT
This
project explores the functionalities in the Human Resource System and payroll
System of any organization to find a way to improve upon these important
aspects of the organization, and as a result a Human Resource and Payroll
Management System was developed. The improvement is simply introducing
automation to the mundane tasks that can become frustrating especially when
there is a large number of employees in the system

ONE
INTRODUCTION
1.1
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
The
Human Resource (HR) Department of FIGO solutions is responsible for
coordinating the activities and payment slip of the employees working in the
organization. Although the accounting department is responsible for payment,
the human resource department prepares the pay slip and every other data of the
employees in the organization. The preparation of the employees data and payslip
are somehow done manually. the staffing situation of the company or department
are not adequate enough to properly cope with the situation. The installation
of computer systems and the approval by FIGO management to increase the
installation of additional system unit is evidence from the fact that
computerization of the employee and pay roll system is long overdue.
The
project report has therefore not only enhanced our confidence in handling the
affairs of the computerization of human resource department but also guarantee
possibility of the completion of the project and its success.
1.2 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
Considering
the fact that human resource and payroll management system is a way of
organizing an organization's structure, the research project seeks to create a
system that combines the function of hiring people, retention of people pay and
perks management performance management change management, payroll processing,
managing people to the form of collective relationship between management and
employee, into one function platform, thereby making human resource management
and payroll system easier for the administrative department of the organization

AIM AND OBJECTIVES
The
main aim of this project is to design and implement a human resource and
payroll management system for FIGO SOLUTIONS.
The
objectives include:
1. To
allow the HR department of an organization to update the employee details
whenever there is a change in employee profile pertaining to that organization.

To create payslip
3. To
ensure timeless and accuracy in the processing of employees bio-data and facts
4. To
design a security based system which allows only authorized users access to the
system

system will be designed to enhance easy access and retrieve of file

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
This
study is meant to design and implement Human resource and payroll management
system for FIGO solutions.
The
project would be useful to all organization that has human resource department,
not only will it be of benefit to the organization it will also be of benefit
for other researches in the future for references purposes.

SCOPE OF THE STUDY
Allow
for the creation of an application specification to the human resource that
maintain the intranet automation of the human resource software i.e. which
contain the data and the payroll related to the employees.

LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY
Some
of the challenges encountered in the course of this study by the researcher
includes:-
· Derogative
and restraining attitudes of the gate-security personnel,
· Financial
constraints,
· Distance
barriers,
· Traffic
delays,
· Incomplete
research questionnaire collection in-contrary to the actual number initially
distributed,
· Secrecy
to vital information and
· Frequent
postponement by respondent over awaited questionnaires distributed over in
available time to answering the questionnaires given and
· Stress.
