ABSTRACT

Cream is the fat-rich fluid milk product obtained through the physical separation of raw milk. Cream is considered to be a typical oil-in-water emulsion. Whipping cream has a fat content of 30–40% and is processed with or without low-pressure homogenization. Increased pasteurization temperatures prolong the shelf life of cream. Well-homogenized cream with a fat content of 10–12% is preferably used as coffee whitener. Cream liqueur combines the flavor of an alcoholic drink with the texture of cream. The process for manufacturing cultured creams with very different fat contents is similar to the processes for making other fermented products

CHAPTER ONE

1.0 Introduction
Cream can be regarded as an article intended to be rubbed, sprinkled, sprayed on or otherwise applied to the human body or any part of thereof for beatifying or altering the physical appearance of the skin, leading it soft and smooth. There by marking the body look younger. Also cream constituents who are found to be use foundation of most creams are fat/ oil water or alcohol and emulsion which form the base, acts as liquid world or hold the mixture together respectively. The improvement in modern technology has led to the production of creams for special purpose. For example cream emulsion containing hydroquinone lightens the skin and it sis also known as bleaching cream while cream that contains benzoic acid is` used against microbial attacks on the skins. It is well known in interfacial science that paraffin oil have its importance as conditioning and lubricating agent while borax serve as a cleansing agent. For oil in water emulsion, stearic acids specially used which is the basic substance  in cream preparation and serve as emulsifying agent, can still be made on the already existing creams as well. (berg and caster  1978)
Creams are used for cosmetics purpose such as cleansing, beautifying, improving appearance , protective or for therapeutic function. These typical formulations are used for the localized effects for the delivery of the drug in to the  underlying layer of the skin or the mucons membrane. These product are designed to be used to typically for the better site specific delivery of the drug in to skin for skin disorder. Cream are considered as a pharmaceutical product as they are prepared based on techniques developed in the pharmaceutical industry; un medicate and medicated creams are highly used for the treatment of various skin condition or allopathic which are used by people according to their needs for their skin conditions. They contain are or more drugs substance dissolved in a suitable base. Creams may be classified as O/W  or W/O types of emulsion on the basis of phases the term “ cream has been traditionally applied to semisolid formulated as either water in oil (e.g cold cream) or oil in water ( e.g vanishing cream)

1.1 Aim and Objectives
Aim:
This study aim at preparing cleansing cream of better quality than the available ones in the market.
Objectives
The main objective of this study are:
i. To determine the materials used in preparation the cleansing cream of high quality.
ii. To examine the method involved in preparing the cleansing cream that does not have huge financial involvement.
iii. To ascertain the Goat milk and its products have played an important role in the economic viability in many parts of the world, especially in developing countries.

1.2 RESEARCH QUESTION
i. What are the physicochemical properties of cream using goat milk
ii. How to ascertain the pollution of formulation of cream using goat milk
iii. How to compare the value obtained from analysis with that of national and international standard.
iv. How to sensitize the public on dangers and consequence of consuming or using goat milk cream.

1.3 Statement of Problem
Over the years, there has been increasingly rapid growth in manufacturing  of the fake and adulterated creams the producers produce such creams  with little or no effort to use the actual material and method involved in its preparation. When such creams is used, it will cause irritation to the skin because of the in ability to use the adequate materials and to test the PH density and discosity of the cream.

1.4 Justification of the Study
Although some of these cream are essential, others are toxic to animals, man and plants. When these cream accumulate beyond the recognized and recommended limits, they become toxic to living organism (Borne, 1978). The consumption or use of cream  from formulation of milk cream sources is capable of causing water or chemical related diseases. It is on these bases that an attempt is being made to determine the extent of underground cream in industry.

1.5 Significance of the Study
This study will provide effective method of producing cleansing cream with desired qualities creams sold in the market  when used instead of cleansing or protecting the skin cause burns and removes the skin this is caused by either inadequate of mixing  the material in their right proportions or adding one of the cheap ingredient that will either be acidic or basis which reacts with protein of the body

1.6 Scope and Limitation of the Study
This research work is limited to the scope preparing cleansing cream that does not cause irritation to the skin.
i. There is no significant variation of the selected formation of cream using goat milk in the manufacture.
ii. There is no significant intra and inter seasonal variations of formation of cream using goat milk in the industry.
iii. There is no significant effect of distance of household from the goat milk, household size and changing seasons on the daily per capita amount of goat milk cream.

1.7 Operational Definition of Some Terms
CREAM: is a thick liquid or semi-solid cosmetic or medical preparation applied to skin.
GOAT: a goat is a farm animal or a wild animal  that is about the size of a sheep. Goat have horns, and hairs on their chin which resemble a beard.
MILK: an opaque white fluid rich in fat and protein secreted by female mammals for the nourishment of their young.
PREPARATION: the action of creating preparing  a mixture of materials  according to a formular.
