CHAPTER ONE

1.0   INTRODUCTION OF ALUMINIUM WINDOW

Windows are possibly most complex and interesting element in residential design. Today’s energy efficient window can dramatically decrease the heating and cooling costs while increasing the occupant comfort and minimizing window surface condensation problem. In recent years there have been the advances in windows of both new construction and retrofits. High performance windows system may be considered as one of the key factors for reaching sustainable building design challenge, by decreasing heating, cooling energy use and they also contribute to national and global effort to reduce the environmental impacts on non-renewable energy use.

They are many complex issue that are difficult to balance in selection the best window for sustainable practices and therefore it is not very easy to reach the best window option that provide the maximum energy and cost efficiency while achieving visual and thermal comfort. The energy saving potential of a window is strongly dependent on a large number of variable for instance climate, thermal and geometrical characteristics of the building in which window is installed. Formally window are made with glass and wood this did not give us standard and security nor meet the want of people wood or glass window give a short life span. They are destroyed very quickly and they cannot withstand an high degree of strain. Also wooden window are very risky to put at open place as a result of it component which is not friendly with water not only that it cannot be used in a place where there is termite.

It was this that made the technologist rise up and decided to have an alternative means of making window which give birth to aluminum windows that proved to give a long time life span.

These aluminum windows are in various designs which are as follows, casement aluminum window, awning aluminum window, e.t.c. Through aluminium window other designs have met the want of people, it gives a maximum security and also very decent in looking.
