ABSTRACT
An e-mail address identifies an email
box messages to which e-mail messages may be delivered. Most e-mail addresses
use SMTP (simple mail transfer
protocol which is an internet standard RFC
(request for comment). The part before the @sing is the local – part of the
domain name to which mail message are forwarded to e.g. (jidejob). The Domain
name system is looked up to as a search finder of the mail transfer agent or
mail exchangers (MXS) accepting e-mail for that address.
The domain may have sensitive meaning
for any mail system handling the address; the meaning is well defined any
changes in meaning involve changing every mail server in existence. The local –
part, by contrast is supposed to be opaque to every mail system except the
system which is authoritative for the domain, these is what makes the e-mail a
federated system.
As a result of this project, it is
envisaged that a mail must have a HEADER and a BODY that comprises of the information
conveyed from a reference domain to a recipient.
The use of ASPNET has brought about the
birth of this project, it is a web application developed and marketed by
Microsoft to help programmer build dynamic web application and websites that
are more user friendly and also contain great functionalities for animation and
other advance displayer properties.

CHAPTER ONE
1.0 INTRODUCTION
There were a variety of ways to
send an e-mail from a webpage using ASP.NET. One of the component is CDONTS
(Collaborative Dara Object for NT Server), but there were also a number of
other available e-mailing components. The .NET Framework contains two classes
to assist with sending e-mail. The first class, MailMessage, defines the
various properties of the e-mail message itself, such as the e-mail message
body, the sender, the receiver, the subject, the priority, and so on. The
second class, SmtpMail. performs the work of actually sending the e-mail
message. To send e-mails through an ASP.NET page, there is need to have the
SMTP Service installed on the Web server. This is a standard^ installation
option when installing US on Windows N'T 4.0 or Windows installers.
1.1 STATEMENT OF PROBLEM
One of the most current
ways of communication in this new age is electronic mail systems. This affords
communication without any form of distance barrier. It only requires a form of
connection on the internet through websites. However, there are relatively few
e-mail service providers. The most common of these are Yahoomail, hotmail,
Gmail to mention but a few. This research work is aimed at creating a
personalized form of e-mail system 'on a company's website. The website is
expected to be able to achieve the same function that is being performed by the
aforementioned websites.
1.2 OBJECTIVES OF THE
STUDY
1.
To design a customer friendly
website for a company
2. To establish a
server connection that allows e-mail system to work on the website designed
3. To create a e-mail system that allows messages
carrying the companys name to be sent from the website
4. To make sure that the e-mail system has most
of the properties of the common e-mail system
5.
To show the benefits of such
e-mail systems to the company
1.3 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
This research work will
create easy communication within and outside company. The study will be useful
to every organization by showing an improvement on the current level of
communication in the organization. Most especially is the external
communication with the customers of the organization. Also, the project will create
a special awareness
of the company to the general public as a company that take
communication as an important aspect of their business.
1.4 SCOPE OF THE STUDY
This research study will
focus on building a website that contains e-mail system for Jyde Group of
company. In order to achieve this, the system server will be configured to
permits sending of electronic messages within websites on the system. Some
properties of common e-mail system that permit effective messaging will be
included. SMTP of ASP.NET will be used to achieve the set objectives
