PAN-ATLANTIC UNIVERSITY (PAU) MASTERCARD FOUNDATION SCHOLARS PROGRAM  


The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at Pan-Atlantic University (PAU) is dedicated to:

  • Providing access to high-quality education: Ensuring talented individuals have the opportunity to pursue their academic aspirations.
  • Fostering leadership development: Nurturing an entrepreneurial mindset, strong leadership abilities, and a sense of social responsibility in Scholars.
  • Supporting career progression: Offering Scholars the skills, networks, and experiences necessary for success in the professional world, including internships, mentorship, and career guidance.
  • Encouraging social impact: Empowering Scholars to engage with their communities through meaningful service projects.

As the first university in Nigeria to partner with the Mastercard Foundation on this transformative initiative, we aim to educate and empower 650 Mastercard Foundation Scholars over the next decade.

 

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible applicants must meet the following conditions:

  • Show academic excellence
  • Demonstrate leadership potential
  • Exhibit financial need
  • Be young women interested in STEM programs
  • Be young people displaced by conflict
  • Have disabilities
  • Show a commitment to community service
  • Have passed WAEC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB with at least five credits, including English and Mathematics, and three additional subjects from Arts, Sciences, or Social Sciences in no more than two sittings
  • Achieve a minimum UTME score of 220, with English Language and three other subjects from Social Science, Arts, or Science fields

Selection Process

Step 1: Meet Academic Requirements
Applicants must have at least five (5) O'Level credits, including Mathematics and English, within a maximum of two sittings.

Step 2: Complete the Application Interest Form
Candidates who have not yet received their UTME results should fill out the Interest Form to express their intention to apply and begin the screening process.

Step 3: Sit for the JAMB UTME
Applicants are required to take the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board – Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (JAMB UTME). A minimum score of 220 is necessary to move forward in the process.

Step 4: Complete the Online Application Form
Eligible candidates with the current year's UTME results should complete the online application form, providing personal, academic, and background information, as well as the required documentation.

Step 5: Screening and Shortlisting for Interviews
Applications will be reviewed to ensure they meet the eligibility criteria and align with the goals of the Scholars Program. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews, which may be conducted in person or virtually, depending on location and circumstance.

Step 6: Admission and Scholarship Award
Successful applicants will be informed of their admission to Pan-Atlantic University and will receive an official scholarship offer under the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program.

  • Indicate Interest (Awaiting UTME): Candidates with at least five O'Level credits (including Mathematics and English) in no more than two sittings, but without their UTME results, should fill out this form.
  • Start Application (UTME Ready): Candidates with five O'Level credits (including Mathematics and English within two sittings) and a UTME score of 220 or higher in the current year should click here to begin the application process.
