Initiative Scholarship
The King Saud University (KSU) Initiative Scholarship is a
competitive program aimed at attracting exceptionally talented graduate
students from Saudi Arabia and around the world to pursue their PhD
studies at King Saud University in Riyadh.
This initiative offers a unique opportunity to join a dynamic academic and
research community while benefiting from full financial and institutional
support.
The core objective is to strengthen the quality and diversity of PhD
students at KSU by welcoming top-tier candidates from both local and
international institutions.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the King Saud University Initiative Scholarship,
applicants must meet the following criteria:
· A
Master’s degree from an accredited institution
· English
language proficiency, demonstrated by one of the following official
test scores:
o
TOEFL iBT: Minimum score of 61
o
IELTS: Minimum score of 6
o
STEP: Minimum score of 85
(KSU Institution Codes – TOEFL: 7498 | IELTS: 147080)
o
A language requirement waiver may be granted
if the Master’s degree was completed in the USA, Canada, UK, Ireland,
Australia, or New Zealand
· Two
letters of recommendation
· Curriculum
Vitae (CV) with any recent publications or patents
(if available)
· A
Statement of Purpose outlining academic goals and research
interests
· GRE
General Test scores are recommended but not mandatory, unless required
by your chosen program
· A
personal interview (virtual or in-person) may be part of the
selection process
Scholarship Benefits (2025)
Selected full-time PhD students will receive a generous scholarship package
for the duration of studies (up to 3 years), including:
· Full
tuition support
· Monthly
living allowance: SAR 54,000 annually (≈ USD 14,400)
· On-campus
housing
· Comprehensive
health coverage at university hospitals
· Relocation
support for students moving to Riyadh
· Potential
part-time work opportunities
