1.1      INTRODUCTION

The word business can also be interpreted as employment that is, the trade or profession out of which and individual earns a living. Business may also be defined as a commercial or industrial concern in which people have invested money.

An entrepreneurs reward for risking his depend in any business venture is profit, but this is however, depend on his ability to organized and combine other various factor of production at his disposal in the best proportion to attain the best results.

The concept of business was adequate in the early 19th century, before the industrial and technology initiation and the consequent emergence of large industrial revolution. 1.2      STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

1.5   LIMITATION OF THE STUDY

Due to time and financial constraints, some vital information could not be easily and timely collected. This has no small measure affected this research work out believe is that this finding will motivate others in researching further into other interesting topic. Other limitation to this research work is lack of text book, lack of finance and in cooperative attitude of the respondents.

1.5      DEFINITION OF TERMS

MOTIVATION: -Motivation can be defined as the process of influencing subordinate of followers to work for a course desired by the leader.

2.0   HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

International breweries plc was incorporated as a limited liability company on 21st December 1997, however it did not commence until 8th Dec. 1978. The factory was declared open on April 7th 1978 by COL PAUL TARFA the then military administrative of OYO state.

The company occupies about 15 kilometers along AKURE road., ILLESA  international breweries plc. Product trophy beer, may or beta malt . All these products have won various in Nigeria, Spain, and Greece, for their quality.

Some of objectives are: -

The company belongs to the national union of food beverages and tobacco employees. These are deports in AKURE, OSOGBO, IBADAN, ABUJA, ABEOKUTA, and ISEYIN currently the staff strength is about 2000.

The company become a public liability company on may 1994 the financial year runs from 1st July to 30th November international breweries plc ILESA whose establishment is the brainchild of Dr. Lawrence Omole is the first large scale industry established in ijesha land.

Dr. Lawrence Omole perceived the establishment of the industry not only as a logical progression of his business and investment activities but also as a further avenue for providing more employment oppourtunities for Ilesa sons and daughters.

To Dr. Lawrence Omole the availability and case of assembling raw materials play the crucial role in the decision to establish the bewries monetary.

The rawmaterials include mainly water, bottle, and contains locally obatainable and mal, yeast hope and sugar which could be imported relatively easily.

Between 1970 and 1973 the company arranged attend loan financially for the project which being based on the pound sterling fell through upon the unexpected devaluation on the standing in August 1993. it was after this that Dr. Omole initiated discussion with local financial organization with the hope of financing the projects locally.

The foundation of the facing complex was laid soon after the signing of the first agreement in 1977 but work did not start in earnest in December 1978 simultaneously with the construction of the building, the necessary machine and equipments were been installed. These comprised a water treatment plant, a bottling beer, filtration and cooling machine, beer storage and formation tanks, stream boiler plant, yeast cellar and malt accerstance and silo’s plants.

The beers was launched at Koko dome within the cocoa house complex at Ibadan on December 1980 the beweries was formally declared open on Saturday April, 7 1978 under the chairmanship of his highness Oba late PETER AGUNLEJIKA 11, The OWA OBOKUN of Ijesa land during the period of 1979. The company has since come out with two more products largely from locally source material.

The company commissioned the building of its own permanent administration office in 1980 work was complete in October 1984and it come into use as from December 1984 at the commencement of production in 1978, the industry depend on water works located a few hundred meters away from the factory the work was only able to supply about1000000 liters per day out of the company reimbursement of 1607500 liters per day. The short fall was made good by the use of 3 tankers fetching raw materials from ERINJESA water has since been pipes from ESA-OD) reservoir to the factory site, a distance of 22 kilometer away, about 4200000 liters per day are now available to the company.       

Among others, the purpose of research and training are to improve the quality of the company products and enhance their acceptance by the public, increase the efficiency of the production and this make it more economic, improve the quality of the raw materials  input and to find local substitude for imported raw materials. The company engages in research and training on its own and at the same time sponsors its staff in various training programmes both locally and outside the country.

The quality control department in its own case is a separate entity they control the quality of all th products and products of each department. It does this by collecting small sample and tests is in his laboratory. The quality control officer and his surbordinate.

The whole factor department is the products the factory manager next to him is the production manager whereas all the departmental managers are under the production manager.

The entire department take name after theair department that is we have commercial manager, marketing manager respectively.

In administration department these are the section that can be found there, they are the security section, canteen section, maintenance section, personal and administrators office e.t.c

In the finance department we have the following department. Which are account section, audit section, and wages section?

Lastly, in the engineering section for the whole management.

The general manager coordinates and direct the affairs of the industry he passes instruction to the department managers and other section in the industry. The general manager is in turn responsible to the board of directors. The policy formulation and control of the organizational is turn jointly by the board of directors and the management.
