1.   PRODUCT AND ITS USES

The product to be produced is PARAKILL Insecticide. The production process involves the collection of some chemical materials such as D.D.V.P, I.P.A, Phenol, Formalin, Industrial Camphor and Kerosene etc.

Based on our survey, we realize that most people need insecticide at home, and there is no how in a compound you will not found parasite. Initiative behind producing this Insecticide. The use of this insecticide will prevent malaria and sickness within the surroundings and keep the environment clean and hygienic.

2.      MARKET AND ITS POTENTIAL

This product has competitors like Raid and Moretein, etc but, what we believe is that, there will always be a market for this product. For us to have a good market for this product, we got samples of similar product to see what is lacking and insufficient in terms of quality, packaging, branding, price and also quantity. The raw materials suppliers are listed below:

Our Product was sold within and outside the College. We went as far as going to Oshodi Market, Yaba Market to sell to the Market Women and Men; Students. Basically, our Location is Yaba College of Technology, but since the product is meant for general use it will have to go round the entire Nation. The Unit price of the product is N200.00 only and we have been able to sell 150 copies of the product.

2.   PRODUCTION TARGET

The Total population of Yaba College of Technology Students and Staffs is about forty thousand (40000) and majority use insecticide at home and also we have traders in the College that have come to make their ends meat and will also need this product at home. The target is to produce more than what will be sufficient for the people within and outside the College. We are expecting workers to work for 260 days in a year (5days/week), by this we can calculate our annual production to be at least 1,800,000 units of the product.

3. PRODUCTION DETAILS AND PROCESS OF MANUFACTURE

v  Pouring of kerosene into 20liters plastic

v  Add D.D.V.P into the plastic

v  Add I.P.A into the same plastic

v  Add the grinded Industrial Camphor

v  Add phenol and Formalin into the plastic and cover it, then shake very well

v  Then the product can now be packaged into packs as desired by the producer.

4. QUALITY CONTROL AND STANDARDS

To prevent the production of the fake of this product we will have to register with the SON, NAFDAC and the Manufacturers association of Nigeria (MAN), so that we will be able to get their seal of quality after all standards had been met. The quality of the product will be according to the Standard. Safety of the employees, immediate users and the Community at large is also a standard that should be met.
